After a large turnout at the Issues Forum on Thursday, October 13, the Committee voted on Monday, October 17, to take positions on the current ballot questions:
- Additional slots-only casino license: NO
- Authorization of up to 12 new charter schools per year: NO
- Prohibit certain methods of farm animal containment: YES
- Legalize recreational marijuana for individuals at least 21 years old: NO POSITION
- Community Preservation Act in the City of Boston: YES
A two-thirds vote is required for the Committee to take a YES or NO position. Question 4 did not have such a margin in either direction.
